About Us
The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, Atkins-Realis located in Kincardine, Ontario. Shoreline Power Group is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program which replaces the main components of 6 reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders as well as construction management and trade labor. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator will report to the EHS & Hu Director and will be responsible for coordinating the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the project’s EHS Program; while working with the Safety team, Project Directors, Construction Managers and Supervisors to continuously improve EHS performance.
What You'll Do Here
- Manage and monitor all EHS performance metrics and prepare reporting processes that monitor and report progress
- Coordinate the development, revision and implementation of EHS procedures, reports, and communications
- Work with Health Physics to ensure worker dose management and tracking information is collected
- Track and enter program non-conformances into the tracking database, complete monthly reports
- Creation of ad hoc reports as well as support of existing reports
- Monitor Aecon EHS Management System Client documentation updates ensure project-based documentation is aligned
- Review updates to EHS training and ensure alignment with project programs
- Manage user access to EHS data collection systems
- Ensure EHS records are organized and accessible
- Coordinate updates to EHS and Human Performance Digital data collection systems.
- Proactively identify improvements for team processes and tools
- Take a consultative approach, have an openness to learn and change and work closely with the team and EHS to continuously improve the EHS Program and our ability to effectively support operations and our clients
- Communicates with project directors, supervisors/managers/trades to resolve issues/problems as they arise
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring To The Team
- Experience with EHS in the Construction industry preferred
- Experience working with users to gather requirements
- Understanding of safety management processes and safety software experience required
- Excellent communication, publication and presentation skills
- Ability to detect errors in reports and data analysis
- Experience with MS Office suite required
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at report and procedure writing
- Experience in the nuclear industry is considered an asset
- Ability to quickly establish a credible relationship and interact effectively with the full spectrum of staff from skilled trades to senior management
- Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities and follow through to implementation
- Classroom presentation/facilitation skills including classroom and practical instructional abilities
