What Is The Opportunity?

The Shoreline Power Group (SPG) is a fully integrated joint venture of Aecon and AtkinsRéalis located in Kincardine, Ontario. SPG is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program, which replaces the main components of six reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders, as well as construction management and trade labour. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.

 

Working with the Manager, Series Training, the Lead, Series Training is accountable for the day-to-day success of assigned training programs, including the development, coordination, implementation support, and continuous improvement of those programs. This role provides technical and instructional leadership across the full training lifecycle and ensures training programs are aligned with project requirements, stakeholder expectations, and field execution needs. The Lead, Series Training applies the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) to translate scope requirements, lessons learned, and stakeholder inputs into structured and effective training programs that support workforce readiness. The Lead, Series Training provides work direction, coaching, and technical guidance to support consistent, high-quality execution across Series Training programs.

 

This is an 18 month contract position.

 

What You’ll Do Here

  • Lead the application of SAT and ADDIE across all series training scopes, including analysis, design, development, implementation support, and evaluation activities
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify scope requirements, risks, gaps, and learning needs
  • Lead the development, review, and refinement of training materials and program content
  • Ensure training materials are technically accurate, instructionally sound, and aligned with adult learning principles and field execution requirements
  • Establish milestones, priorities, and readiness requirements for all series training scopes and report progress regularly
  • Maintain and monitor schedules and resource plans for all series training scopes, including labour, materials, mock-ups, and facilities, ensuring alignment with project cost controls, schedule milestones, and workforce readiness requirements
  • Support coordination of labour, materials, mock-ups, equipment, and training logistics
  • Support alignment of training plans with budget constraints and resource availability
  • Ensure training records, curricula, and outputs are maintained within Aecon University (AU) and support audit readiness
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with Construction, Quality, Engineering, and other stakeholders
  • Monitor training implementation and field alignment, ensuring issues and gaps are identified and addressed
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned (OPEX), evaluation results, and stakeholder feedback
  • Develop practical solutions to training challenges using technical knowledge, collaboration, and sound judgement
  • Other duties as assigned

 

What You Bring To The Team

 

  • Education to include an undergraduate degree in Engineering or a technical diploma, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in construction or coordination environments is considered an asset
  • Significant experience in CANDU reactor refurbishment (fuel channel and feeder replacement) is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of construction industry practices, including safety, quality, work planning, and project controls
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Experience with Canva is considered an asset
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles
  • Strong knowledge of SAT and ADDIE

Salary range: $75,000 -$100,000

 

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
