Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Concrete/Labourer Foreperson to join our industrial team to support project requirements.  The successful candidate will be responsible for leading crews involved in concrete placement, formwork, grading, finishing, and general labour activities while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct concrete and labour crews on a daily basis
  • Coordinate site activities to ensure work is completed safetly, efficiently, and according to schedule
  • Read and interpret project drawings, specifications, and grade stakes
  • Plan daily work activities, manpower, equipment, and material requirements
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and site-specific safety requirements
  • Perform site inspections, complete daily reports, and safety documentation
  • Monitor production, quality, and workmanship to meet project standards
  • Coordinate with superintendents, survey crews, and subcontractors
  • Train and mentor crew members while promoting a positive work environment
  • Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays and maintain productivity
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of civil construction experience
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory of foreperson experience
  • Strong understanding of
    • Concrete placement and finishing
    • Formwork systems
    • Excavation and grading operations
    • Underground utilities and site development
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience as a Labourer in an industrial construction environment
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments
  • Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • WHMIS-15 Certificate
