What is the Opportunity?

The successful candidate will report to the Director, Nuclear Engineering Consulting, Project Manager, and the Materials Engineering Laboratory Manager on both small and mid-sized projects. The successful candidate must be a self-starter. Expectations include supporting project goals in accordance with the defined success path, and identification of problem areas with suggestions for resolution.

 

What You'll Do Here:

  • Support the metallurgical evaluation of failed component sent to our Materials Engineering Laboratory.
  • Support mechanical and civil engineering design projects.
  • Support plant outages on-site with data gathering, preliminary calculations and field walkdowns.
  • Prepare and/or review Mechanical/Civil Structural design calculations.
  • Maintain detailed design document files.
  • Successfully attend and complete Quality Assurance, Radiological and Safety training.

 

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering.
  • MS or MBA is considered an asset.
  • FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) is a considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Stress and Finite Element Analysis of Pressure Vessels and Piping.
  • Familiarity with Heat transfer and Fluid Mechanics.
  • Familiarity with AISC Code and Pipe Support Design.
  • ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code membership is a plus.
  • Able to travel (<20%) and provide on-site support, for walkdowns, and outages, etc.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills with team members and clients.
  • Possess great interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain relationships in a small office environment
  • Proficient technical and report writing.
