Position Title:  Quality Inspector, Telecommunications

Whether at residential, retail, commercial, institutional or hospitality environments ATSI is well-suited to assist clients with their telecom installation needs. 


Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures as specified in the Quality Manual. The Quality Inspector shall identify, document and track quality audits as well as identify, document and review non-conformances with the Operations and QMS team.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Performs on-site quality inspections in accordance with structure cabling standards
  • Inspects work in progress and / or completed to determine and ensure that the work complies with the standards and specifications.
  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of quality programs as required.
  • Assists with the preparation and verification of various technical reports; including pre- and post-inspection.
  • Identifies and reports work that does not meet the Client’s quality requirements.
  • Collaborates with the Contractors, Field Managers and engineers to determine approaches & methods to improve the overall quality of work.
  • Follows up and maintains inspections and as-builts on behalf of the Client.
  • Completes all associated documentation and forms for individual inspection.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of a cost of quality tracking system.
  • Provides reporting to the Client through Client-provided systems as required.
  • Assists with the tracking of non-conformance reports and corrective/ preventative action requests.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous experience working with Outside Plant build and Design functions. Specific experience with Joint-Use aerial plant construction will be required.
  • Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering is an asset.
  • Proficient with the use of computer and on-line business tools (MS Office suite of applications).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Effective team player.
  • Willing to travel for work.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adaptable to change.
  • Previous quality assurance experience is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
