Join Our Team as a Bilingual Procurement Manager!


We’re looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our Civil East Infrastructure team in Montreal. In this role, you’ll play a key part in managing procurement activities for major infrastructure projects, ensuring cost efficiency and compliance while building strong supplier relationships. If you enjoy collaborating across teams and traveling to project sites, this opportunity offers the perfect blend of strategic impact and hands-on engagement.

 

 What You’ll Do Here:

  • Manage the planning, procurement, and movement of materials, as well as the award and administration of subcontracts.
  • Drive consistent procurement and contracting practices across the organization.
  • Oversee and manage all Procurement disciplines; Subcontracts, Purchasing, Material Management, Expediting, Logistics.
  • Responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing, ordering materials and supplies to meet operational requirements.
  • Works with various subcontractors, projects, and legal teams to negotiate and execute subcontracts, MSAs and terms and conditions.
  • Provide status of procurement awards and administration.
  • Track savings achieved through effective purchasing and implementation of cost control initiatives.
  • Ensure that procurement activity is ethical and adheres to the procurement policy.
  • Lead the development & implementation of a project-specific procurement plans including coordination and support with project controls , ensuring compliance with contract conditions and Aecon's standards.
  • Provide support to Operations & Project Controls teams on subcontractor claims assessment, client claims development, negotiations & dispute resolutions.
  • Provide commercial and technical expertise to support proposal development and provide commercial input into contractually defined project control requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to all contract conditions regarding Procurement requirements, project set-up, monitoring & close-out.
  • Create, promote, and maintain a safe, open & respectful workplace culture and environment.
  • Provide feedback & guidance to direct reports for annual goal setting; support in the establishment of individual career development plans and in identifying training & professional development opportunities.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews (with mid-year check-ins) & provide constructive feedback; implement performance improvement plans as needed with support from Human Resources.
  • Participate in project-level resource planning, utilization analysis & resource leveling; manage & maintain Project Controls staffing plan forecasts.

 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • A minimum of 10 years recent related experience including purchasing, supply chain, logistics or materials management experience.
  • University degree in Business or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred Construction industry experience a plus.
  • Ability to understand the technical aspects of Aecon’s business from a procurement perspective.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and build relationships across multiple functions.
  • Engineering or Quantity survey back ground would be an asset.
  • Superior negotiation skills.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Self-starter who approaches his/her work with a sense of urgency.
  • Meets deadlines under pressure in short time frames.
  • Able to handle multiple competing task.
  • Able to analyze complex data and derive well supported linear and non-linear premises.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passion for excellence; demonstrated high goal achievement orientation and a will to win.
