What is the Opportunity?

Aecon is currently seeking an Environmental Coordinator to join our team in New Brunswick. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sustainability, you will play a key role in implementing and monitoring environmental requirements on the project. You will actively contribute to ensuring regulatory compliance and minimizing environmental impacts related to construction activities.
What You Will Do Here:
- Monitor environmental compliance with permits, approvals, and regulatory requirements
- Support the implementation of the environmental management plan
- Conduct environmental inspections on site
- Identify environmental risks and propose mitigation measures
- Track environmental incidents and corrective actions
- Work closely with construction teams to promote best environmental practices
- Maintain environmental documentation and records
- Participate in internal and external environmental audits
- Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders as required
What You Bring to the Team:
- Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field
- 3 to 7 years of experience in environmental roles within construction or infrastructure projects
- Good knowledge of environmental regulations applicable in New Brunswick
- Experience with environmental permitting (permits, approvals, authorizations) is required
- Field experience on construction sites (strong asset)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, site-based environment
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
