In December 2024, United Engineers and Constructors was acquired by Aecon Group Inc. Aecon and United have a proven working relationship and the United team continues to operate in the market as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company.

 

We are seeking an architect to support our fast-growing power generation and infrastructure business. The position will be based out of our Mt. Laurel, NJ (preferred) or our Charlotte, NC office. The successful candidate will have experience in heavy industrial structures, as well as general commercial projects.  

 

The successful candidate can look forward to projects including new build simple and combined cycle powerplants, nuclear projects, and commercial building new build and refurbishments.

 

What You'll Do Here

 

  • Responsible for the conceptual and detailed design aspects of an assigned architectural project.
  • Provides consultation and responsibility in planning, design, coordination and construction administration.
  • Apply advanced architectural concepts and designs.
  • Develop electronic 3D models, perform studies, develop all the construction documents such as drawings, and specifications required to support a project from conception through construction.
  • Perform code reviews, evaluate life safety and ADA requirements, etc.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, and construction.

 


 What You Bring To The Team

 

  • Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) from a five-year accredited college or university
  • Six (6) years of experience in developing architectural designs for commercial and heavy industries.
  • Experience with AutoDesk Revit, and AutoCAD

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MicroStation, Photoshop, Rhino a plus.
  • Registered architect (RA)
  • Certified LEED Professional
