Position Title:  Architecture Manager

In December 2024, United Engineers and Constructors was acquired by Aecon Group Inc. Aecon and United have a proven working relationship and the United team continues to operate in the market as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company.

We are seeking an architecture manager to support our fast-growing power generation and infrastructure business. The position will be based out of our Mt. Laurel, NJ (preferred) or our Charlotte, NC office. The successful candidate will have experience in heavy industrial structures, as well as general commercial projects.   

What You'll Do Here 

• Perform various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.
• Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating technical assignments.
• Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of architecture.
• Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This evolves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.
• Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside the organization 
• Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining the field.
• Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience 
• Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
• Manages group of architects and/or designers, coordinating activities of the unit.

What You Bring To The Team

• Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) from a five-year accredited college or university
• Must be a registered architect (RA) and certified LEED Professional
• Ten (10) years of experience in developing architectural designs for commercial and heavy industries.
• Able to develop electronic 3D models, perform studies, develop all the construction documents such as drawings, and specifications required to support a project from conception through construction.
• Perform code reviews, evaluate life safety and ADA requirements, etc.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, and construction.
• Experience with AutoDesk Revit, and AutoCAD
• Experience with MicroStation, Photoshop, Rhino a plus.
