We are seeking an enthusiastic Supervising Mechanical Engineer with experience supporting Power Generation Projects in our Mt. Laurel, NJ office. Responsibilities include managing the mechanical engineering and design effort on major power projects from conception to construction and final project closeout.
The successful applicant can look forward to projects including simple and combined cycle powerplants, and general mechanical system design throughout the United States that require all facets of mechanical engineering.
What you'll Do Here:
- Functioning as the mechanical discipline lead on a project.
- As the mechanical engineer of record for assigned projects, using your professional engineering license to sign and seal mechanical drawings developed under your supervision.
- Develop mechanical calculations, reports, studies, specifications, and design drawings such as equipment arrangement, PFD, AFD, P&IDs, and isometric drawings, for water, steam, air, gas, oil systems.
- Ability to coordinate interdisciplinary team of engineers and designers to complete project tasks on schedule and on budget.
- Reviewing relevant codes, design documents, specifications, and construction documents to support project development.
- Ability to develop material and workhour estimates as well as engineering and design schedules.
What You Bring To The Team:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the design of mechanical systems for convention generation (fossil fueled) power plants.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering leadership position
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
- Experience with industry standard engineering software such as AFT Fathom and AFT Arrow, etc.
- The successful candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be capable of collaborating with the multi-discipline engineers and designers
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in US.
- M.S. in Mechanical Engineering is an asset
- Experience in HVAC and Fire Protection design is an asset
- Experience with Autodesk Plant3D is an asset
Pay and Benefits:
Pay Range: $160,000 - $180,000 per year
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
