What is the Opportunity?
The Technical Lead – Structural will oversee the technical delivery of multidisciplinary design packages, ensuring
alignment between design, construction, and client requirements. This role is pivotal in ensuring design
compliance, managing engineering interfaces, driving technical excellence, and ensuring constructability across
all phases of the project.
What You’ll Do Here:
• Lead and coordinate the technical delivery of structural design works packages.
• Serve as the primary liaison between design consultants, construction teams, and client technical
representatives.
• Review and approve design submissions for compliance with project specifications, standards, and
constructability.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring timely resolution of design and construction issues.
• Manage technical interfaces across structural and other disciplines and with third-party stakeholders.
• Provide technical advice to design consultants to achieve compliance with the client contract.
• Support procurement by reviewing technical scopes and evaluating vendor proposals.
• Monitor design progress against schedule and budget, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
• Provide technical leadership during construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and innovation within the technical team.
• Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career
progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
What You Bring to The Team:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical leadership or design roles on large-scale transit or
infrastructure projects.
• Experience working on large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or equivalent is an asset.
• Proven experience managing design teams and delivering structural designs.
• Working knowledge of design agreement and client contracts.
• Experience working with a large multi-disciplinary team.
• Strong understanding of structural design, construction methodologies, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, BIM platforms) and project management
software.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, pressure environment.
SFSP is a joint venture partnership between Aecon; Acciona and Pomerleau. The successful candidate will be
employed by one of the joint venture partners.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum.
