About Us
As part of an alliance agreement Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Beginning in 2023 Aecon will support the validation phase design, procurement, early site preparation and site mobilization scope for the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
What is the Opportunity?
- Develop and prepare formwork, shoring and scaffolding and related engineering drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data.
- Complete general arrangement, assembly, and fabrication drawings for all formwork/falsework items,
- Complete engineering drawing and plans for all shoring/reshoring systems to be used during the construction.
- Help and work closely with building information models (BIM) team to provide digital representations of physical and functional aspects of temporary structures including formwork, falsework and scaffolding.
- Develop and prepare design sketches.
- Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
- Review and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Post secondary education in an Engineering or Civil discipline. P.Eng or EIT is considered an asset.
- Minimum 8 Years expereince in formwork drafting.
- Ability to operate computer-aided design (AutoCAD – 2D and 3D) software and manual drafting.
- Ability to multitask and manage several activities of drafting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from design engineers.
- Time management skills to complete work within the required timeframe.
- Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving.
