About Us
CanAtom, a joint venture between AtkinsRéalis and Aecon, is delivering the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Refurbishment Project under a collaborative contract with Ontario Power Generation. The joint venture is underway to complete the retube, feeder, and boiler replacement (RFBR) of Units 5–8. Building on the successful delivery of the Darlington Refurbishment Project, the CanAtom team brings proven experience in safely executing complex nuclear projects on time and on budget to support Ontario’s clean energy future.
What is the Opportunity?
The Human Resources Administrator will report to the Human Resources Manager. This position will be responsible for a variety of administrative duties in support of CanAtom Human Resources Functions, including employee Onboarding, Recruitment & Selection and Talent Management.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Provide coaching and assistance to Managers through different processes of human resource management including, labour relations, performance management, discipline, absence management (disability leave, paternal leave, unpaid holidays) etc.
- Manage employee lists, including administration and tracking of project Assignment Letters for all employees assigned to the Joint Venture projects. Includes determining all necessary details for all new project staff, project transfers and all moves relating to project transitions
- Assist in the administration of project Living Out Allowance process as per Travel & Per Diem Policy, including tracking and collecting all necessary forms and supporting documentation. Providing updated TD4’s to home company Human Resources
- Manage employee departures, including collecting and tracking all necessary equipment, ensuring it is returned to the proper home company
- Work with Home Company Human Resources to ensure all employee change paperwork is completed
- Investigate and answer employee questions associated with pay and benefits and CanAtom’s and Home Company policies and programs
- Manage job descriptions and revise as needed. Ensure open roles are posted to the career page
- Participate in weekly recruitment meetings, liaise with Talent Acquisition Advisor(s) regarding job requisitions
- Arrange coordinate and participate in interviews as required, perform reference checks for candidates
- Participate in the co-op program through recruitment activities
- Participate in the development of employee engagement activities necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
- Assist in the administration of Rewards & Recognition Programs
- Liaise with HR Business Partner, Project Administration and Home Office to arrange training, employee events, etc. as required
- Owns the project on-boarding process, ensuring all new employees have the proper equipment and access for their first day, including IT setup, project hire announcements, update slideshow, and ensuring a training plan in place
- Schedule and deliver Orientation
- Other duties as required
What You Bring to the Team:
- Diploma in Human Resources or a University degree in Human Resources or equivalent
- 1-3 years of relevant Human Resources administration experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $50,000-$56,000
