PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
At Aecon-Wachs we are always looking for exceptional talent to join our team and work on our growing project portfolios. We are actively recruiting for Pipefitters to support our various project sites across the US.
Pipefitters lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, repair and service equipment and piping systems carrying water, steam, fluids, gases, chemicals and fuel in various systems such as heating, cooling, lubricating and process piping systems. They measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fiberglass pipes, valves and fittings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment
• Follows all safety and quality program expectations
• Loads and unloads equipment and materials
• Uses hand and power tools and heavy machinery
• Reads and follows construction field work packages
• Adheres to all applicable company and client policies and procedures
• Adheres to all applicable laws regulations and guidelines
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• At minimum 3 years of experience in a related work
• Follows written and verbal instructions
• Works well at heights and in confined spaces
• Collaborates with coworkers and has strong interpersonal skills
• Learns quickly and has strong math, problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Must be comfortable working in Radiological Work Areas
• Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending and lifting at least 50 pounds
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be able to be hold and maintain a Security Clearance at US Nuclear facility
• Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
