Position Overview

Our team is looking for a Business Analyst. Our purpose is to provide a division-wide approach to identify, prioritize and successfully execute a portfolio of initiatives and projects that are aligned with Aecon’s strategic and financial goals and ensure service excellence to our customers.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Business Analyst will be responsible to continuously refine and share best practices throughout the Utilities Division and provide a channel of communication for successes, mitigation of issues, risk and dependencies across yards.
The successful candidate must be available to travel across Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and establish key reporting standards.
- Maintain overall project planning and formulate reports based on project scheduling and timetables for deliverables.
- Champion continuous process improvement throughout the Utilities Division.
- Identify training GAPS, and/or skill assessment within the yards.
- Maintain an action item tracking system, drive completion of activities, and document resolution of action items.
- Support Utilities teams in new initiatives; drive communications to ensure project execution is on successful track, and next step recommendations for stakeholders.
- Work with the team to generate sufficient information to enable effective business decisions, including the identification of alternative options and team recommendations.
- Serve as an effective liaison between all superintendents and yard staff to ensure that requirements and expectations are defined, communicated, and understood.
- Provide practical assistance, as necessary in support of the successful execution of each activity.
- Encourage collaboration and communication between business segments and managers to ensure achievement of company goals.
- Provide technical support to field staff.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Sound computer skills – MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, SAP and Business.
- Strong communication skills – oral and written.
- Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, accurately and under pressure.
- Ability to see a task from conception to implementation.
- Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
- Ability to Inspire and foster an environment of cooperation between different departments and co-workers.
- Ability to work with others as a team.
- Availability to travel between all Utilities yards.
The pay range for this position is: $60,000 to $70,000
