Company & Position Overview
Xtreme Powerline Construction is a Michigan-based electrical distribution utility contractor looking to diversify into new work streams and expand the local footprint into new States.
Xtreme Powerline Construction has partnered with Aecon Utilities Inc. in large scale engineering, procurement and construction solutions for customers across the US and Canada. The service offering includes substations, battery energy storage plants / facilities, power line installations and the integration of these solutions to the overall power grids.
We are seeking a seasoned leader to lead all Business Development (Sales) growth activities for Xtreme in the U.S. As a strategic lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of the Xtreme business across the U.S. with a key focus on driving opportunities with new clients in new regions. This role is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering and maintaining strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
The incumbent for this role will be expected to travel frequently across the U.S., including to our Xtreme headquarters in Port Huron, Michigan.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for leading strategic business development activities for Xtreme, formulating solutions to address customer challenges while also pursuing opportunities with new and existing clients
- Develop and implement a strategy to grow and enhance Xtreme’s footprint and capabilities in the U.S. market
- Establish and maintain effective contact with clients, including post award contact. Identify new work leads and manage lead follow-up
- Proactively understands client strategies, objectives, programs and solicitations.
- Understands most contract terms and assists in negotiating key terms with partners, subcontractors, and subconsultants.
- Participate in the development of long-term strategy for Xtreme in the U.S. market
- Promotes Xtreme’s brand in the U.S. market
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Proven leadership, business development and construction experience in the electrical distribution industry in the U.S.
- Experience with Public and Private Utilities (including Municipalities and Cooperates) and Authorities
- Strong connections, relationships and professional presence in the industry with clients
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, public officials, team, peers and the general public
- Strong understanding of the drivers in the industry in the U.S. (i.e. business trends, regulatory, economic, and political)
- Experience in assessing and negotiating contracts
- Commercial knowledge, solid understanding of the risks in contract terms
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a strategic mindset and problem-solving ability.

- Ability to travel extensively across the U.S.
