What is the Opportunity?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Electrical Procurement Specialist to manage the sourcing and purchasing of electrical components and equipment. This role is critical in ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement while maintaining high-quality standards and supplier relationships.
This position will be based out of our office in Port Huron, Michigan.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to secure high-quality materials, equipment, and services for EPC projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and align procurement activities with project timelines.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers of electrical materials and components.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable agreements for the company.
- Ensure timely procurement of products according to project timelines and budget requirements.
- Develop and manage vendor relationships, ensuring supplier performance meets company and project standards.
- Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and procurement reports.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in procurement, preferably within the electrical or construction industry.
- Previous experience working on major projects with procurements spend greater than $5M an asset.
- Strong understanding of electrical components, systems and supply markets.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in ERP Systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
