What Is The Opportunity? 

Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rails and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools and other key destinations throughout the city. 

 

As part of the Scarborough Transit Connect project based in Scarborough, Aecon is looking for a qualified Senior Project Coordinator to join our team.  

 

This role will initially require full-time in-office presence at 100 Consilium Pl, Scarborough, and will transition to a full-time site-based position as the project progresses to support line-wide work.

 

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Lead and execute multiple concurrent operational activities across active project sites.
  • Conduct on-site technical reviews to monitor project progress, verify alignment with design specifications, and identify risks or discrepancies.
  • Apply advanced technical, contractual, and commercial expertise to project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain project controls, including Earned Value Management (EVM) tracking.
  • Incorporate lessons learned into new project setups to enhance execution performance.
  • Finalize self‑performed work methodologies and detailed schedules for temporary tunnel services and concrete works.
  • Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation.
  • Finalize quality and safety documentation, including ITPs and checklists.
  • Identify and manage contractual risks within contract terms and conditions (T&Cs).
  • Enforce contract and subcontractor compliance and performance requirements.
  • Develop project forecasts, participate in estimating, and support change order pricing.
  • Lead dispute resolution efforts and support risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor schedules in real time, interface with senior leadership, and manage project risks.
  • Complete financial and contractual closeout while fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment.
  • Extensive walking on active construction sites and work on scaffolding.
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.

 

What You Bring to The Team:

  • Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Technology diploma, degree, or postgraduate certificate required.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction or infrastructure project delivery, preferably on large, complex projects.
  • Experience working in an underground environment is an asset.
  • P.Eng preferred or actively working toward professional designation.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and detail‑oriented.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Flexible to adapt work schedules as required to meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively across technical, commercial, and field teams.
  • Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $100,000

 

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
