Position Overview 
Aecon Industrial brings seamless solutions to key clients through operational excellence and reliability. With the ability to self-perform across our diverse business offering and a strategic fabrication network, Aecon Industrial proactively and profitably manages projects across a diverse range of industrial business areas.  (Renewable Energy, Natural Gas Distribution, Oil and Gas, Water, Mining, Cogeneration Energy, Chemical, etc.). 


Key Responsibilities

Accountable for ensuring all construction project management activities are successfully executed, including;

· Transition to construction, monitors (Levels 1 and 2) or establishes (Level 3 and 4) construction infrastructure and critical path

· Establishing and maintaining project budget

· Enforces change procedures

· Establishes schedule and staffing plans

· Negotiates and executes contracts and agreements in a timely and cost-effective manner

· Chairs project management meetings with a focus on the best outcomes for Aecon

· Ensures all project reporting is accurate and timely

· Oversees testing, quality, and safety

· Manages client and vendor relationship

· Project risks and issues are logged and managed

· Ensures all project close-out activities are completed in a timely manner

· Demonstrates commercial acumen to protect profits and improve margins

· Business development, including participation in costing and estimating activities and risk analysis

· Financial forecasting and contributing to creation of revenue targets

· Overseeing procurement including materials and subcontractors


Required Knowledge and Experience

  •  Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, or equivalent discipline
  •  General knowledge of non-residential construction methods, building systems, and terminology
  •  Demonstrated ability to meet Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 or Level 4 proficiencies
  •  In addition, applicants will be required to demonstrate deep technical project management expertise and understanding of regulatory requirements in one or more of Aecon’s operating markets (Nuclear, Utilities, Rail, etc…)
  •  Preference for P.Eng designation. A degree or diploma in business management is also an asset.
