Reporting to the Quality Manager - the Quality Inspector (Concrete Foundations) will be responsible for inspecting and testing activities for the construction of concrete infrastructure on the project.
This role will be supporting the DOW Path2Zero TR4 project located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB.
Please Note:
- This is an hourly contract position.
- The contract is expected to end by November 1, 2026 with potential to extend.
- The schedule is 4 x 10-hour days + 1 x 8-hour day per week, with potential for weekend work.
Pre-access D&A testing and CSTS is required.
What You'll Do Here:
- Performs on-site in-process quality concrete foundation inspections in accordance with IFC drawings, project specifications, and CSA standards
- Pre-pour rebar, anchor bolt/embedment, formwork inspections.
- Oversee concrete placement and finishing.
- Monitor concrete curing – hot and cold weather requirements.
- Post-pour inspections for defects.
- May coordinate the 3rd party concrete testing agencies on the project.
- Assists with the tracking of non-conformance reports and corrective/ preventative action requests.
- Completes all associated documentation; Quality Control reports, sign-off on drawings, create as-built drawings, etc.
What You Bring to the Team:
- At least 2 years’ experience as a quality concrete inspector – pre-pour, placement, post-pour, temperature monitoring, curing, finishing, survey and backfill.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Familiar with inspection techniques related to concrete testing.
- Exposure to industrial projects will be considered an asset.
- Computer literate in MS Office (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
- Proven ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven organization and time management skills.
- Ability to interact with project client representatives.
- Need to be a team player and driven for success.
- Local to the Edmonton area.
