What is the Oportunity?

As part of our Aecon Utilities sector, Aecon Telecommunications (Telecom) works with major providers across North America to assist with turnkey fiber installation, 5G network expansions and servicing legacy networks.
As a Project Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting project teams by ensuring effective site‑level administrative operations. Working from a site trailer or office, you will provide accurate, timely processing of documentation, payroll, and purchasing activities while maintaining strong communication with Operations, Payroll/HR, Finance, and Accounts Payable teams. Your work supports multiple projects across Ontario and contributes to the smooth, efficient flow of project information.
What You'll Do Here:
- Perform daily or weekly processing of timesheets, equipment usage, personnel allowances, and related documentation, ensuring accurate transfer to Accounting.
- Interpret and apply organizational policies, rules, and regulations to support project teams.
- Set up accounts with local suppliers and manage miscellaneous site purchases.
- Establish and dismantle site offices as needed, ensuring efficient setup and closure.
- Maintain organized filing systems and complete requisitions and AP invoice processing.
- Process employee payroll daily with accuracy and attention to deadlines.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Post‑secondary education preferred, with 2+ years of office experience including purchasing, accounts payable, and payroll. Basic accounting knowledge required.
- Intermediate skills in MS Word and Excel; SAP experience considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact tactfully with employees, visitors, and suppliers.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment while maintaining strong teamwork and prioritization skills.
- Safety training and construction industry experience are assets.
The expected salary for this position is $50,000-$65,000. Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience and unique skills.
