What Is The Opportunity?
Aecon is seeking an M&E Coordinator to join the Urban Transportations Solutions group to support dynamic, transit projects in Canada. We are proud to support projects that are committed to faster and more convenient travel, ultimately improving transportation experiences. This starts with bringing aboard the best possible team!
What You'll Do Here:

Coordinate and support mechanical and electrical scopes of work across rail infrastructure, stations, facilities, and systems interfaces.

Assist with planning, sequencing, and execution of M&E activities in alignment with the project schedule and construction phasing.

Review M&E drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and RFIs to identify conflicts, constructability issues, and interface risks.

Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and Subcontractors to resolve technical and coordination issues.

Track and report progress of M&E installations, inspections, and deficiencies.

Coordinate M&E inspections and ensure work complies with British Columbia Building Code, CSA standards, ESA requirements, and project specifications.

Support testing, commissioning, and system turnover activities, including documentation and close‑out requirements.

Participate in coordination meetings with civil, architectural, track, and systems teams to ensure interface alignment.

Maintain accurate records including drawings, logs, quantities, and installation status.

Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with project safety standards and provincial regulations.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to problem‑solving in a collaborative team environment.

What You Bring to The Team:
-
Post‑secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related technical discipline.

3+ years of experience in an M&E coordination or construction role, preferably on rail, transit, or large infrastructure projects.

Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems commonly found in rail projects, such as:

Power distribution and lighting

Communications, access control and fire life safety systems

HVAC and station ventilation
-

Fire protection systems
-

Low‑voltage systems (asset dependent)

Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

Familiarity with British Columbia codes and standards, including ESA requirements.

Experience coordinating subcontractors and working in a multi‑trade environment.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficient in MS Office; experience with construction management systems is an asset.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based environment.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
