What is the Opportunity?
The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario. SGRT is a part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) project and includes the removal of the steam generators and the installation of replacement steam generators with related plant modifications. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.
 
In addition to the existing contracts for Unit 3 and Unit 4, SGRT has been awarded contracts for Unit 5, 7, and 8 for steam generator replacements as part of the Bruce Major Component Replacement project.
 
The Quality Coordinator, reporting directly to the Quality Manager, will complete activities across the quality department to ensure compliance and monitoring of all quality processes, procedures, and activities, in accordance with the Aecon Quality Manual. Such tasks include implementing analyses (ACA & RCA), managing, tracking and storing quality records, reports, and documentation, as well as assisting with NDE requests, contract resources, and providing overall support to the Quality Team.
 
What You'll Do Here:
  • Initiate and maintain History Docket Tracking daily in SharePoint for all units.
  • Support on-site with Apparent Cause Analysis (ACA).
  • Manage and track the progress of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to ensure timely completion.
  • Initiate Corrective/Preventive Action Reports when requested by any project employee.
  • Enter, manage and track Corrective/Preventive Action Reports in the CAR database.
  • Perform follow-ups of the corrective/preventive actions to verify their effectiveness.
  • Field administration and coordination of NDE requests and contract resources to ensure efficiency and successful execution of the work scope.
  • Collect NDE hours worked and report to the Subcontractor Coordinator.
  • Work closely with the QA Close-out Review Team to coordinate any outstanding tasks.
  • Track and drive completion of closeout by working with task managers and CWP owners to ensure schedule adherence.
  • Assist in QA/QC document control functions and activities (i.e. submitting approved MRRs, Inspection Reports, etc. for upload and Bruce Power transmittal).
  • Assist in the initiation and maintenance of QC/QA qualification records and training in Aconex, complete with third-party qualifications.
  • Assist in the input and maintenance of NCR, CAR, and NCAR reports in Cority.
  • Oversee trending of corrective actions, nonconformances, etc. and provide Senior Management with monthly status reports (required by client).
  • Help organize internal and external audits.
  • Copy, file, scan and organize essential quality documents including, but not limited to, NDE Reports, PWHT Reports and Inspection Reports.
  • Perform data entry into SharePoint, Aconex and Cority, as well as report generation, and support the overall SGRT quality assurance team.
  • Create and maintain common logs as required, i.e. Calibration, Pneumatic Pressure Tests, etc.
  • Print and control sign-in and sign-out sheets for physical Safe Work Plans and Weld Card binders.
  • Track RFI progress for the Field Engineering Group.
  • Track SGRT laydown spaces for U3, U4 and U5. Maintain location maps and create and maintain a tracker reflecting all TMPs and ESWAs allocated by Bruce Power. This tracker reflects Bruce Power allocated location numbers, elevations, SGRT planned laydown usage, permit numbers, projected release dates, and current release status.
  • Run Lessons Learned meetings with Engineering, Field Engineering, Task Managers and Quality.
  • Assist in cleanup of the Lessons Learned Log prior to close-out and submittal to the client.
  • Assist the Field Engineering Team with maintaining FCN trackers for all units on SharePoint.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Post-secondary education in welding technology, quality or a related discipline, or related work experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Aecon Quality Programs, procedures and processes would be an asset.
  • Construction industry knowledge and experience would be considered an asset.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Cority, SAP, Teams, SharePoint and Outlook.
  • Bruce Power clearance is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Action-oriented with the ability to deliver timely results.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, oral and written presentation skills.

Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000

 

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
