Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Administrator will provide administrative and coordination support to the Utilities Human Resources and Operations teams. The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for providing professional, client-centered support within a fast-paced operational environment.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Responsible for working closely with HR and payroll to ensure all transactions related to the employee life cycle are submitted accurately and within the required payroll deadlines (Ie - new hire paperwork, terminations, benefits, compensation changes, taxable benefits)
- Responsible for salary reports and ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Investigating and answering employee questions associated with their pay, acting as a liaison between the employee and salary payroll department & hourly payroll department
- Participate in data audits
- Generate new and ad hoc HRIS reports as needed by the HR department
- Monitor vacation tracking and coordinate end of year vacation roll over process
- Support drafting offer letters, onboarding new employees, collecting all new hire paperwork, submission of IT needs, access to software and hardware, and follow up to ensure all needs are in place prior to the employee start date
- Schedule, coordinate and conduct orientations for new hires for all salary and hourly non-union employees
- Prepare new Employee Orientation packages and assist in offboarding employees including communication with payroll and IT
- Act as liaison between HR, new hire and managers regarding onboarding information
- Participate and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Act as backfill and assist other HR Administrators with their operational requests in cases of absences/high work volume
- Provide administrative support to ensure HR4HR resources are maintained, and confidentiality of HR client group is upheld
What You Bring to the Team:
- Post-secondary education with a major in Human Resources or related field
- Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment such as construction is an asset
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deliverables
- Experience with SAP and Success Factors is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate with various audiences, stakeholders and clients
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service skills with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members as well as internal and external stakeholders
- Professionalism and discretion handling sensitive information
- Demonstrated ability using MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
This role follows a hybrid work model, combining in‑office collaboration and flexibility, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.
Reason for Vacancy: Replacement
The expected pay range for this role is: $50,000 - $55,000 per year
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may includecertifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
