PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Business Program Management Office (BPMO) at Aecon is here to help our internal partners deliver on their organizational and strategic objectives, through gaining insights with data, building the processes and tools
needed to achieve organizational objectives and getting our teams ready for change.
Reporting to the Director, Business Readiness, the Analyst focuses on the people changes created by BPMO initiatives through understanding BPMO’s strategic priorities, Aecon’s technical capabilities, and current initiatives underway. This allows the Analyst to execute change management strategies, which increase the success and reduce risk on initiatives, through building relationships with BPMO partners and project teams; and carrying activities related to change management plans, communications and training.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support activities within the Business Readiness and BPMO teams at Aecon, through understanding readiness practices, BPMO communication approaches and training strategies which support our initiatives.
- Participates in change strategy planning to ensure that impacted parties are prepared for change and leverages readiness tools throughout project life cycle including stakeholder analysis, impact analysis, change readiness assessments, identifying areas of risk or resistance, plans for leadership alignment and mobilizing change networks.
- Based on change strategy planning, delivers and executes on critical readiness plans which could include communications, training and supporting the sponsor, people leaders and change network.
- Design and develop communications materials to support readiness plans using a wide variety of formats including written, visual and online tools.
- Design and develop training documents as per training plan including creation of training plans by stakeholder group, creating materials (such as training videos, job aids and presentations), booking sessions, facilitating sessions as required and ensuring integration with project schedule.
- Understand the key business problems, benefits, strategic anchors, and success measures of all initiatives being supported.
- Partner with BPMO project management teams to understand project activities and key milestones, to ensure that readiness plans are aligned with project deliverables.
- Partner with Internal Communications and Aecon University, to ensure consistency in approach, adherence to Aecon standards and proactive planning.
- Supports BPMO communications and manages the intranet portal to ensure organizational visibility to BPMO resources, activities and events.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Post-secondary degree in a related field (ie: Business, Marketing, Human Resources, Project Management)
- 3-5 years of change management, communications, training, project delivery or business analysis experience.
- Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
- Ability to gather and analyze information from a diverse set of sources and individuals to fully understand a problem.
- Able to operate in a complex, fast paced project environment with interdependencies spanning multiple work-streams, teams and operational sectors.
- Experience communicating technical and project details to non-technical audiences at all levels (ie: Executive, Senior Leadership, Unionized Workforce).
- Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical and trouble shooting skills.
- Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others.
- Strong understanding of technical tools (ie: SharePoint, Microsoft Suite, SAP).
