What is the Opportunity?
The Campus Program Specialist plays a key role in executing Aecon’s enterprise-wide campus strategy and managing programs that attract, recruit, and engage early talent. This role focuses on strengthening relationships with post-secondary institutions, promoting Aecon’s employer brand on campus, and delivering an exceptional early talent experience.
This role provides an opportunity to lead and continuously improve campus recruitment and early talent programs, with broad exposure to Talent Acquisition, employer branding, stakeholder engagement, workforce planning, and program management.
This is a hybrid role based out of the Head Office in Toronto, with travel required during peak recruitment seasons to support campus events.
What You'll Do Here:
- Support the execution and continuous evolution of Aecon’s national and international campus recruitment strategy, aligning programs with business priorities, workforce planning objectives, and future talent needs.
- Serve as the Centre of Excellence (COE) for campus recruitment and early talent programs, providing governance, best practices, tools, resources, and strategic guidance across the organization.
- Develop and execute short, medium, and long-term early talent pipeline strategies to build sustainable talent pools and strengthen Aecon’s future workforce.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with post-secondary institutions, career centres, faculty, student groups, and industry partners to enhance Aecon’s campus presence and employer brand.
- Lead and coordinate campus engagement initiatives, including career fairs, networking events, employer panels, student competitions, and other early talent programs.
- Partner with Marketing, Corporate Affairs, Social Impact, and other internal stakeholders to enhance talent branding, student engagement, and recruitment marketing initiatives.
- Analyze recruitment data, talent market trends, program metrics, and industry insights to provide recommendations and act as a trusted advisor to Talent Acquisition leaders and team members on effective campus hiring strategies.
- Drive inclusive recruitment initiatives by developing partnerships and outreach strategies that support Aecon’s diversity hiring and workforce development objectives.
- Partner closely with Talent Acquisition Operations to ensure campus programs are supported by scalable processes, technology solutions, reporting, governance, operational efficiencies, and an exceptional candidate experience.
- Drive continuous improvement by gathering stakeholder feedback, monitoring industry best practices, and implementing enhancements to campus programs, processes, communications, and early talent experiences.
What You Bring to the Team:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in campus recruitment, university relations, early talent programs, program management, workforce planning, or talent acquisition.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong program management, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, events, and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, presentation, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with students, educational institutions, industry organizations, hiring leaders, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience interpreting recruitment data, market intelligence, and program metrics to drive recommendations and decision-making.
- Experience providing consultative advice and influencing stakeholders through data-driven insights and industry knowledge.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and seasonal recruitment peaks.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems, CRM platforms, recruitment technologies, event management tools, and reporting applications is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel to campuses across Canada during peak recruitment seasons.
- Creative problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and a passion for developing future talent.

The expected salary range for this role is $85,000-$95,000 per year
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may includecertifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
