What is the Opportunity?
The Category Management Coordinator is a key team member on the Corporate Procurement team. This individual will be communicating with stakeholders internally and externally to promote and advance the utilization of preferred suppliers for cost reduction, customer satisfaction, vendor performance management, and contract performance for a broad range of managed categories and potential opportunities.
What You'll Do Here:
- Liaise between Estimating, Category Managers and Sourcing Managers to identify collaboration opportunities
- Provide support in building sourcing strategies and cost-saving initiatives
- Liaise between Project Managers, Category Managers, Sourcing Managers, Operational Procurement Leaders and Suppliers to support initiatives execution
- Support promoting the company Preferred Supplier program and help direct company spend toward preferred suppliers to achieve targets
- Support Category Managers and Sourcing Managers in various category management tasks (market updates, supplier updates, issues and opportunities, supplier commitments, and performance monitoring)
- Maintenance of Spend Category data and information through the creation, updates, and improvements to processes, templates, contact lists, reports, presentations, agreement details, etc.
What You Bring to the Team:
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar or related role is an asset
- Post secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration or equivalent
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with internal clients and suppliers
- Experience with the construction industry and familiarity with construction project management phases is an asset
- Ability to analyze complex data sets, interpret trends and research topics to raise relevant questions and identify opportunities
- Ability and willingness to learn high-level technical and commercial aspects of categories to the degree required to support their management
- Highly conscientious and disciplined, with the ability to manage and coordinate competing organizational needs
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
- Strong computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
