What is the Opportunity?
As the Co-op, Copilot Studio Developer, you will work closely with Aecon’s Copilot and AI Enablement team. This role is a great opportunity for students interested in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and modern workplace technologies to gain hands‑on experience supporting enterprise AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
You’ll work alongside technology and business stakeholders to help enable, maintain, and improve how AI tools are adopted and used across the organization while building practical experience in governance, administration, documentation, and user support.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Support day‑to‑day administration and monitoring of Microsoft Copilot and related Microsoft 365 AI capabilities
- Assist with tracking Copilot usage, adoption metrics, feedback, and issues across user groups
- Help maintain documentation, job aids, and internal guidance related to Copilot features, use cases, and best practices
- Support AI governance activities, including access reviews, security considerations, and policy alignment
- Assist with testing new Copilot features, updates, and AI‑enabled tools in a controlled environment
- Help respond to basic user questions and escalate issues to senior team members as needed
- Participate in AI enablement initiatives such as pilots, training sessions, and communications
- Collaborate with IT, data, security, and business teams to support responsible and effective AI usage
- Support the development of Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions by helping connect AI models to enterprise data sources to meet defined business requirements and objectives
What You Bring to the Team:
- Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Technology, Data, or a related field
- Strong interest in AI, automation, or emerging technologies
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook)
- Curiosity about how AI tools like Copilot work and how they are used in real business environments
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment
- Understanding of data, analytics, or security concepts
- Understand of Generative AI fundamentals
- Experience with building AI enabled solutions
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Copilot Studio)
- Exposure to Generative AI tools (Copilot, Gemini, Claude, etc.)
- Exposure to Azure, AWS, GCP
- Experience with developing solutions (such as APIs) using Python
- Experience documenting processes or user guides
Please note this is a 16-month co-op opportunity.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $23.00-$26.00/hour
