Under the supervision of a Proposal Supervisor or Proposal Lead, the Proposal Co-op supports the proposal team in the coordination and development of RFx (Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation, etc.) submissions.

This role is designed for a college or university student looking to gain hands-on experience in proposal coordination, business development, and construction/utility services. The co-op will assist with administrative, formatting, and coordination tasks while learning proposal fundamentals, tools, and processes in a fast-paced team environment.

 

Co-op opportunities vary in length, this opportunity currently has openings for an 8 month work term starting in September 2026. 

 

What You'll Do Here: 

  • Support the proposal team on active RFx submissions by assisting with coordination, document preparation, and administrative tasks.
  • Review RFx documents to help identify basic submission requirements, forms, and deadlines (with guidance).
  • Assist in maintaining proposal schedules, trackers, and document libraries.
  • Prepare and format proposal documents using templates, branding standards, and style guides.
  • Support document control and version management in SharePoint and internal systems.
  • Assist in assembling proposal submissions, including compiling content, formatting, and packaging deliverables.
  • Take notes during proposal meetings (kickoffs, reviews) and help track action items.
  • Conduct basic quality checks for formatting consistency and completeness.
  • Support updates to content libraries, including resumes, project profiles, and past submissions.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
     

What You Bring to the Team: 

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Communications, Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to work within structured processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with guidance.
  • Interest in learning proposal development, business development, or the utilities/construction industry.

The expected pay range for this role is $20 - $25 per hour

 

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
