Position Overview:

 

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager is responsible for evolving and enhancing operational excellence, business processes, and driving value across the organization.  Including:

 

  • Support sectors, project teams, and departments with improvement projects to optimize work.
  • Work with sector CI leads to identify improvement and support opportunities.  
  • Proactively train, support, and sustain Lean thinking, process improvement and a value focused employee culture. 
  • Lead and support organization-wide value-add data capture utilizing MS Power Automate/Bi analytics tools. 
  • Support organizational-wide continuous improvement program efforts. 

 
Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Process improvement enabler that facilitates business case, works with teams to establish charter/improvement purpose, guide logistics and preparation requirements, facilitates implementation and works with team to complete improvement projects and data capture.
  • Facilitate and coach teams with active work studies to support workplace assessments, behavior-based analysis, and process improvement.
  • Employs lean tools and methodologies to resolve problems and improve existing operations and processes.
  • Work with sector CI leads, functional departments, and corporate communications to socialize and institutionalize work improvements.
  • Work with project teams to improve operations work, troubleshoot issues, and inject lean thinking such as defining value and Conditions of Satisfaction, Root Cause Analysis, and a metrics-based approach to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyze existing work practices to identify waste and work with teams to establish clear productivity measures to monitor and improve. 
  • Work with project teams to review cost reports and production techniques to identify key metrics and improvement opportunities.

 
Required Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in process engineering, construction management, engineering, or related fields preferred.
  • Demonstrated, proven track record of deploying lean methods including Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, and Visual Management required.
  • Experience of working in Industrial, construction, manufacturing or similar environment is required. 
  • Able to guide and support change management planning for larger improvement efforts. 
  • Capable of utilizing Microsoft data capture and analytical tools such as Power BI preferred. 
  • Experience deploying lean construction methods such as Last Planner System and Choosing by Advantages on projects preferred.
  • Associated General Contractor Lean-CM Certification preferred.
  • Able to work with large cross functional teams to facilitate improvement efforts.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
