What is the Opportunity:

As the Learning Experience Designer, you will partner with Aecon’s Business Program Management Office (BPMO) to build a one-stop shop for project management training support for all software tools used enterprise-wide. You will perform an intensive needs analysis of software currently used across our sectors and functional areas for the purpose of consolidating existing training solutions and creating new ones that effectively meet end user needs. Please note this is a 6-month contract position. 

 

What You’ll Do Here: 

  • Build, manage, and execute an intensive gap analysis across sectors to assess current training availability and its effectiveness.
  • Source, revise, or develop training solutions aligned with business/project objectives and end-user needs.
  • Liase with external software providers/vendors to source appropriate training
  • Collaborate with sector leads, SMEs, Project Governance, and LMS teams to ensure effective implementation.
  • Leverage internal subject matter experts to evaluate efficacy of existing training and advise on net-new solutions
  • Using SharePoint, design a searchable and easy to navigate library of software tools that reflect the needs of end users from all sectors and functional groups.
  • Deep collaboration with subject matter experts as well as L+D peers to elevate overall learning impact
  • Measure and evaluate training solutions to continuously improve effectiveness.

 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, preferably gained within a highly collaborative corporate environment
  • Technically savvy – must be able to disseminate complicated technical concepts clearly and succinctly to a variety of audiences with various needs
  • Demonstrated sound adult learning principles, design techniques, and innovative learning solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in hands-on design and development of blended learning solutions (i.e., instructor-led, e-learning, virtual-learning, support resources)
  • Technical proficiency requirements
    • Advanced skills using Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Teams)
    • Intermediate SharePoint skills including creating, editing, publishing site pages, working with web parts, and adding navigation
    • Intermediate to Advanced Articulate Storyline skills
    • Adobe Suite Tools (Photoshop, Captivate, InDesign etc.) an asset
