What is the Opportunity?
Aecon’s Civil East division is a leader in delivering complex infrastructure projects across Ontario, shaping the future! As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Director, Project Quality to lead and drive quality excellence across our upcoming major projects.
The Director, Project Quality will oversee the development and execution of quality assurance strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. This role will work closely with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to enhance quality performance, improve operational efficiency, and reinforce Aecon’s commitment to delivering best-in-class infrastructure. We are continuously seeking top talent to build a strong pipeline for our future projects.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Lead a culture of quality by fostering an environment that values continuous improvement, safety, and compliance.
- Develop and implement strategic quality programs that align with Aecon’s Civil East projects and business objectives.
- Oversee quality management systems, ensuring adherence to regulatory and industry standards, including ISO9001, N286, and N299.
- Provide executive leadership on quality-related matters, influencing project teams, clients, and partners.
- Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution of quality initiatives.
- Drive process improvement initiatives through data-driven decision-making, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CCOHS, and other regulatory safety and quality requirements.
- Mentor and develop the quality team, ensuring they have the tools, knowledge, and leadership to succeed.
- Champion innovation in quality management by leveraging new technologies and best practices in the construction and infrastructure sectors.
What You Bring to the Team:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of leadership experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, construction, or project management.
- Expertise in quality assurance programs, regulatory compliance, and process improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of design, manufacturing, and construction quality control processes.
- Experience with internal and external audits, corrective action implementation, and compliance management.
- Knowledge of civil infrastructure quality standards (ISO9001, N286, N299) is an asset.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a strategic mindset and problem-solving ability.
