What is the Opportunity?

Aecon Concessions and Deutsche Bahn International Operations have formed a partnership to operate and maintain the Regional Express Rail (RER) network in the Greater Hamilton and Toronto Area (GHTA), Canada.

The partnership will be called ONxpress Operations Inc and the combined experience and capability of the ONxpress partnership enable us to bring the international experience of designing, constructing, and operating rapid transit solutions in high-density population and urbanization locations.
 

Reporting directly to the Director PMO, the Document Controller will be responsible for the coordination of all activities related to the Document Control procedure (registration, uploading, transmitting) including technical documents, drawings and commercial correspondence.

 

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Coordinate all activities related to the Document Control procedure (registration, uploading, transmitting) including technical documents, drawings, and commercial correspondence.
  • Ensure documents submit to right person to action documents
  • Follow up with all discipline personnel for action items
  • Ensure all information is logged electronically for easy retrieval and access
  • Record storage
  • Ensure Document Data accuracy in compliance with implemented procedure and policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality around sensitive information and terms of agreement
  • Manage the flow of documentation within the organization and with External Project entities.
  • Retrieve files as requested by individuals from different disciplines
  • Creation of electronic workflows.
  • Check quality of documents and manage upcoming issues
  • Teaming up with other documentation groups
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports on projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as required

 

What You Bring to the Team: 

  • Completion of a diploma in a related discipline or a combination of education, training, and experience in Document Management
  • 2+ years of experience in computerized and/or manual document control management or related field, preferably in an engineering or related industry
  • Experience in various electronic drawing file formats
  • Advanced proficiency with applicable software applications in related field (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Aconex & SharePoint)
  • Knowledge of project documentation and engineering terminology
  • Strong written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse workforce in intercultural environments
  • Experienced in working in project environments would be a plus
  • Fluency in English
