We are seeking Forensic Delay Analysis Lead to support major heavy civil, transit, and infrastructure projects throughout delivery and dispute resolution. This role is embedded within the contractor environment and focuses on protecting schedule entitlement, supporting change management, and defending or advancing claims related to delay and disruption.
The successful candidate will work closely with project directors, construction managers, project controls, and legal counsel to provide defensible, real-time and retrospective schedule analyses on complex infrastructure programs.
Expected pay range for this opportunity/new role and existing vacancy is 130 - 180K salary + bonus.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Lead forensic schedule delay and disruption analyses on large-scale heavy civil and transit projects (LRT, subway, rail, highways, bridges, tunnels, utilities).
- Perform and oversee CPM-based delay analyses in accordance with AACE recommended practice and protocol.
- Support live projects by assessing delay impacts from change events, RFIs, design development, third-party interfaces, and owner-driven changes.
- Analyze baseline and update schedules for logic integrity, critical path continuity, float consumption, and concurrency.
- Quantify excusable, compensable, concurrent, and non-excusable delays from a contractor entitlement perspective.
- Prepare forensic narratives, claim exhibits, and schedule graphics to support:
- Change orders and extension of time requests
- Claims and counterclaims
- Negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and litigation
- Provide strategic advice to project teams on delay mitigation, recovery sequencing, and schedule risk.
- Interface with external counsel, claims consultants, and experts.
- Lead internal schedule defensibility reviews and QA/QC processes.
- Mentor and develop project schedulers and junior forensic analysts across projects.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil preferred), construction management, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience on LRT, subway, rail, highway, bridge, tunnel, or utility-intensive projects.
- 10+ years of experience in construction scheduling and project controls on heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
- 5+ years of experience performing forensic schedule delay analysis for a contractor.
- Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6, TILOS experience is an asset
- Demonstrated experience supporting contractor claims, EOT submissions, and dispute resolution.
- Proven ability to produce clear, defensible written analyses for commercial and legal review.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly with project leadership and field teams.
- Contractor mindset with a strong focus on entitlement protection and risk management.
- Ability to translate complex schedule issues into practical guidance for construction teams.
- High attention to detail and strong commercial awareness.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, multi-project environments.
- Leadership capability with a hands-on approach.
