Position Overview

Faster.Smarter.Safer. This is how Aecon Utilities is committed to delivering projects.  Aecon Utilities is ready to become Canada’s #1 utility construction provider and we’re looking for a GeoExchange/Utility Labourer to help us get there!


Reporting to the Field Superintendent, the Labourer will be responsible to support the drilling GeoExchange installations in various projects. This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising judgment and initiative and involves multi-tasking. What You'll Do Here:  

  • Demonstrate and promote safety.
  • Prepare and clean up project sites.
  • Grouting; operate grouter and tremie reel.
  • Handle and distribute project materials (e.g. load and unload vehicles with supplies, equipment; move tools, equipment and project materials to and from work areas).
  • Cleaning and maintaining drilling equipment.
  • U-Bend Installation; Install loops through de-spooler.
  • Run and maintain hose lines and water connections.
  • Perform other general labour duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.


What You Will Bring To The Team: 

  • Ability to operate and maintain various equipment.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Initiative to stay productive under minimal supervision.
  • Physical strength and stamina, manual dexterity. Able to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
  • Experience working in a labourer role is considered an asset.
  • Willingness to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Training in H2S Alive, Telehandler Operator, Skid Steer Operator, Construction Safety Training System (CSTS), Common Safety Orientation (CSO), Standard First Aid and CPR Level C are preferred (but not required to apply).
