Aecon is seeking a Director of IDD to join our civil east group to support our engineering division. We are proud to support projects that are committed to providing high quality civil Infrastructure. This starts with bringing aboard the best possible team!

What You'll Do Here:

• To provide leadership, support and co-ordination across all technical work streams, during each stage of a project from design through to construction. Technical work streams may include but are not limited to; All engineering disciplines, design management, digital engineering, sustainability, engineering surveying, asset management and civil engineering  
• Ensuring that the design developed meets the technical specifications of the project as well as the applicable law, codes, standards, etc.
• Ensure delivery of IDD in accordance with Aecon’s IDD/BIM related processes and procedures and support future developments
• Ensure the right resourcing profile for the IDD team on our projects
• Ensure the IDD requirements set on the project support digital integrating across all project functions
• Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging

What You Bring to the Team:

• 10+ years of experience leading engineering and IDD Functions in the construction industry
• Educational and Industry experience requirements include Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training plus experience/knowledge of Civil Construction practice
• Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle
• Experience of working within construction project environments
• Experience of large complex projects in infrastructure would be desirable
• Understanding design and construction phases and alignment with the Digital Plan of Works
• On-site construction experience would be desirable
• Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence etc.) skills are essential
• Excellent customer service skills, a passion for problem ownership, and a customer-first attitude
• Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision
• Ability to travel to site, mobile for projects
• Be a champion of inclusion and diversity
