What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Technology, the Intermediate Systems Analyst will join a growing Enterprise Technology team focused on supporting the infrastructure that powers Aecon’s technology platform, and innovating all areas of transformation to a modern, scalable, and cost-effective partner to our business customers.

 

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Responsible for analysis, design, configuration, and support of Aecon’s system solutions that improve business efficiency and productivity, as well as support business strategies and goals
  • Analyze service incidents and problems, identify risks, provide recommendations, and implement solutions
  • Determine whether internal or external solutions exist or whether new solutions are feasible
  • Serve as a project team member for projects large in scope, high complexity and may be enterprise-wide
  • Plan, recommend and implement capacity, growth and architectural changes for Aecon’s software, network, database and application landscape
  • Participate in the creation of and develop cost estimates for the planning of new systems/enhancements for assigned systems
  • Provide technical guidance on the business impact and opportunities
  • Review test plans and monitor testing process to ensure that business results are adequately tested with minimal risk
  • Analyzes testing results to ensure the solution meets the needs of the business
  • Document system modifications
  • Develop system manuals
  • Proposes input into expenditures based on size, scope, and cost of hardware components
  • Participate in the evaluation, selection and application of new and emerging tools and techniques
  • Analyze technology trends to determine impact to the achievement of business goals

 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree or in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of relevant technical and work experience
  • Excellent analytical, technical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of business operations, systems requirements and configuration, and IT processes and technologies
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Intune MDM, Entra, Active Directory and OKTA
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud service delivery, particularly AWS multi-cloud environments
  • Knowledge and experience working with Windows and Linux Servers
  • Experience with administering databases (SQL, RDS, etc.)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (Azure Virtual desktop, Windows 365 PC, Amazon workspaces)
  • Experience with scripting using PowerShell, Azure runbooks and AWS lambda functions and other automation tools
  • Strong understanding of the ITIL framework and best practices
