What You'll Do Here:


  • Validate solution designs against leading practices and overall solution architecture
  • Assist in Aecon’s transition from on-prem to a Cloud-First strategy
  • Define and document solutions in terms of business processes, applications, applications interfaces, end-user interfaces, data, security as well as technology; execute on the high-level implementation strategy and their potential impact on operations
  • Design solutions, which supports both the defined Business and Architecture Strategy as well as supports and achieves the organization’s targeted business outcome
  • Construct technology-enabled operating models and provide viable options and visibility into execution issues
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of products/solutions and propose the best recommendation
  • Participate in complex architectures/designs, documentation, review, and improvements
  • Present unbiased architectural opinions and recommendations to the Architecture Solutions Manager
  • Support the path forward resolution of issues that cross business and technical areas
  • Promote, reuse, and apply existing solutions if possible
  • Provide input and knowledge in architecture and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technologies to IT groups such as Operations, Infrastructure, and Application Development/Support
  • Participate in the development of architecture standards and guidelines
  • Facilitate discussions between Business and Technical Teams in identifying the right solutions
  • Ensure architecture standards are applied to all system, technical, and application projects
  • Research and monitor technology developments and industry trends, assess their applicability, functionality and reliability, and recommend technologies that will enhance the achievement of the business objectives
  • Support Solution projects in all phases of the project


What You Bring to the Team:


  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in an Infrastructure Architect role
  • University Degree in Computer Science or related area in Information Technology from an accredited institution
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, and execution skills with strong written (graphics or text) and oral communications skills; communicates ideas clearly and concisely
  • Must be self-driven, self-motivated, results-oriented, customer service-oriented, while being an effective team player
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to handle changing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to translate business needs and potential impacts into technical solutions and explain complexities to other Architecture team members
  • Proven ability to participate in complex architectures/designs; documentation, review, and improvements
  • Understanding of issues involved in project development, the language of project managers, and the ability to engage with project managers in the deployment of the architecture
  • Ability to understand, approach, discuss and develop architectural artifacts with a common language, which may or may not involve the adoption of a formal framework
  • Understanding of the company business and IT strategies
  • Preferred knowledge of construction and industrial processes
  • Preferred experience with EAI software and modules
  • Experience with implementing and designing Cloud Infrastructures, solutions, and best practices (AWS, Azure, IBM)
  • Preferred Knowledgeable of ITIL Framework (Change and Configuration Management)
