What is the Opportunity?
The Lead, Construction Applications will provide leadership across strategy, governance, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise construction technology solutions. This role is accountable for ensuring assigned applications deliver reliable performance, clear business value, and an effective roadmap that supports project delivery, project controls, estimating, scheduling, and digital construction initiatives.

What You'll Do Here:
Strategy & Portfolio Leadership
- Own the lifecycle, roadmap, and ongoing optimization of assigned construction applications.
- Align technology capabilities and investment priorities with business objectives and Enterprise Solutions strategy.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and operational improvements.
- Support planning, budgeting, and prioritization of application initiatives.
Business Partnership & Solution Delivery
- Develop strong relationships with business leaders, process owners, project teams, and vendors to identify requirements, establish priorities and develop scalable solutions
- Lead application enhancements, upgrades, integrations, testing, and deployment activities.
- Support enterprise initiatives involving Project Management Information Systems (PMIS), and modernization programs.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure application availability, reliability, performance, and user satisfaction.
- Lead incident, problem, change, release, and service management activities.
- Resolve complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain application documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
Governance & Vendor Management
- Ensure compliance with Aecon governance, security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Support relationships with software vendors, implementation partners, and service providers.
- Support contract reviews, product evaluations, and roadmap planning activities as required.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Systems, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in application lifecycle management, enterprise application support, business transformation initiatives, and process improvement projects.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting construction management solutions including project controls, estimating, scheduling, PMIS, or digital construction applications.
- Experience working with business stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams in complex enterprise environments.
- Familiarity of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and tools including incident, problem and change management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
Technical Experience:
- Preferred experience with InEight Suite (Estimate, control document, design) and Primavera P6.
- Strong SQL Server skills in analysis, reporting, troubleshooting, and performance optimization are considered an asset.
- General knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, SAP, BMC-Helix an asset
- Experience with application configuration and functional system support.
- Familiarity with cloud and SaaS application delivery models.
Reason for vacancy: Replacement
The expected salary range for this role is $100,000-$110,000 per year
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may includecertifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
