What is the Opportunity?
Aecon Green Energy Solutions is an independent and wholly owned subsidiary of Aecon Group Inc., bringing energy solutions to customers in Ontario. This includes a wide range of energy solutions such as geothermal and solar solutions for both new build and retrofit applications.
The Lead Solar Installer is responsible for coordination and installation of solar systems.
What You'll Do Here:
- Maintain adherence to Company policies, environmental health and safety policies and good housekeeping practices.
- Installation and coordination of solar projects
- Support site set up planning, including logistics coordination and equipment delivery.
- Train and coach best practices for installation of equipment and solar components
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and technical troubleshooting
- Diagnose and troubleshoot various project system issues such as inverters, switchgears, transformers, breakers, communication equipment, etc.
- Complete routine safety documentation before every job including tailgate meetings, electrical work permits, etc.
- Quality assurance checklists and inspections to document deficiencies and identify corrective actions needed.
- Daily digital reporting and documentation of all work performed.
What You Bring to the Team:
- 3 years combined work/education experience with Electrical/Mechanical
- Electrical/Mechanical technician having experience with commercial solar
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Must have Valid G driver’s license.
- Working At Heights Certification Required.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner.
- Must have basic computer skills including familiarity with MS Office programs (e.g., Excel and Word).
- Working knowledge of LOTO criteria.
- Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
The expected salary for this position is $60,000 - $75,000. Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience and unique skills.
