Position Overview
Aecon Concessions and Deutsche Bahn International Operations have formed a partnership to operate and maintain the Regional Express Rail (RER) network in the Greater Hamilton and Toronto Area (GHTA), Canada.

The partnership will be called ONxpress Operations Inc and the combined experience and capability of the ONxpress partnership enable us to bring the international experience of designing, constructing, and operating rapid transit solutions in high-density population and urbanization locations.

ONxpress Operations Inc is looking for a Lead Auditor, who will lead Operation and Maintenance audits in accordance with Management Systems, estbalish all processes related to audits, ensure effective processing of operational audit activities and handling audit compliance issues, and ensure that internal audits comply with applicable standards, regulations, and guidance (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 19011).


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the team
  • Leading a team of internal auditors and especially the Senior Audit officer in terms of planning, performance and follow up of Audits
  • Oversee and ensure effective implementation of audit processes
  • Responsible for development of appropriate audit plans/cycles, audit schedules
  • Responsible for definition of yearly, risk-based audits
  • Ensure documented and audit reports are created and resulting reports are fair, impartial, and useful
  • Evaluate processes for compliance with quality and legal requirements
  • Periodically inspect and calibrate auditing tools
  • Participate in audits
  • Identify processes, situations, opportunities for organizational improvement
  • Assist audit team in developing audit reports; present audit reports to top management, as needed
  • Assist with follow-up audits, as required
  • Develop internal auditing/testing parameters
  • Establish best practices in accordance with regulation and industry trends
  • Oversee annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness within the given budget
  • Lead the coordination with independent assessors
  • Establish a highly motivated and educated Audit team
  • Provide leadership to the team and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions


Required Knowledge and Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in quality assurance and leading quality audits
  • Firsthand experience with auditing tools (e.g., control charts, Ishikawa diagrams)
  • Experienced in quality management representative roles
  • Experienced in greenfield and brownfield environments would be a great asset
  • Experience in railway projects
  • Good understanding of quality management systems and the requirements associated with ISO 9001 or IRIS standard
  • Perform effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment – comfortable to act with uncertainty and able to create new systems, policies and procedures with limited resources and a need to a quick yet high quality implementation
  • Quick response attitude

  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving abilities
