What Is The Opportunity

The Marketing & Branding Manager for the GO Expansion - On-Corridor Works project will work in a collaborative environment to help set best practice standards for all branding, marketing and advertising activities related to the successful roll-out of this unique project.  Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Manager will lead the development of all marketing plans and deliverables and will be responsible for the documentation and reporting associated with the roll-out of these initiatives. This role will have direct responsibility for managing a small team and third-party agencies and suppliers to ensure the fulfilment of the many contract requirements while delivering specific tactics based on the approved plans and protocols.

 

The successful candidate will be agile in their approach and comfortable working in an environment where changes and growth in roles and responsibilities will take place over time.  They must be able to foster relationships between and amongst staff and client in similar roles at various levels to achieve approvals and consensus between a wide variety of teams.

 

What You'll Do Here

  • Lead the overall brand, market research and marketing strategies, while delegating and managing in-house staff and third-party resources.
  • Working closely with the construction and operations teams, manage the development of branding and marketing materials for print, digital, broadcast, or social media formats (e.g., advertisements, videos, digital/copy writing, signage, influencer campaigns, mass media outreach, paid media marketing, etc.)
  • Close adherence to project agreement, schedule and appendices. Ability to work together with other areas of the program that are also seeking to meet contract requirements and deadlines.
  • In collaboration with the client and colleagues, research, plan, develop, and execute branding and marketing plans for events, construction milestones, community and customer engagement and advertising campaigns.
  • Regularly collaborate with the client to develop and write editorial content and coordinate photography/video for the project website and social media platforms.
  • Proactively identify branding and marketing opportunities to communicate to customer and community stakeholders.
  • Lead marketing working group and stakeholder meetings. In collaboration with the communications team, plan and write marketing materials, organize branding and marketing collateral for outreach meetings, forums, public information centres, tours, and project milestone events.
  • Work effectively with public and private sector partners to build relationships with various third-party vendors, professional associations, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to branding, marketing and service standards, and timely application of signage and hoarding.
  • Quantify the effectiveness of the marketing plan and tactics with applicable KPIs, provide detailed analytics and financial reporting.
  • Produce media reports and social listening analytics as required.
  • Manage the internal branding guidelines across the organization (e.g., corporate communications materials, personnel uniforms, vehicles, equipment or facilities).
  • Work closely with the client to ensure alignment and approvals for all marketing, branding and advertising initiatives.

 

What You Bring to the Team 

  • A post-secondary diploma in marketing or advertising communications, public relations, corporate communications or equivalent experience, including digital, design and social media experience.
  • Minimum of six years’ experience in marketing or advertising communications in a key role that shaped the success of an infrastructure project, (transportation, transit, energy, utilities or similar).
  • Passion for the infrastructure and transportation sectors.
  • Client focused, detail-oriented, responsive and proactive.
  • Highly organized with demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple priorities with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with proven experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and ability to manage digital or graphic design teams.
  • Develop PowerPoint and other treatments based on ability to understand internal and client needs, and independently produce drafts.
  • Experience with creative campaign development, project management, digital marketing, content creation, web development, social media management, brand development and copywriting. Public relations considered an asset.
  • Professional business communication designations considered an asset.
  • Requirement to work beyond Monday to Friday and be available for crisis management and assist at and attend many public meetings.
