What is the Opportunity?

From fabrication and modularization to new builds, turnaround and maintenance, Aecon Industrial leads the way in industrial construction and water infrastructure, providing clients in Canada and the U.S. with vertically integrated solutions and exceptional self-perform work. 

 

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will support the planning, execution, and delivery of complex power generation and heavy industrial projects across Canada. This role requires coordination across multiple disciplines, strong technical comprehension, and experience with risk analysis, project forecasting, and liaising with the clients.

 

Please note: This role supports projects across Canada and is primarily working on-site. Work schedules may vary and travel allowances will be provided.

 

What You'll Do Here:

  • Support the planning and coordination of engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Coordinate multi-discipline project activities including civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural scopes.
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Identifies project manpower requirements and coordinates manpower with appropriate trades and subcontractors.
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc.
  • Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications.
  • Track project progress and support reporting on milestones, costs, and change management.
  • Support procurement activities including requisitions, material tracking, and vendor coordination.
  • Assist with constructability reviews and interpretation of engineering drawings and models.
  • Interface with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to support project execution.
  • Performs such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor/manager.
  • Support safety, quality, and regulatory compliance initiatives in accordance with provincial and federal requirements.

 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Minimum of 2 years of construction or project coordination experience (2–5 years preferred).
  • Experience working on multi-discipline construction projects.
  • Experience supporting power generation or heavy industrial projects is considered an advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; proficiency with Pivot Tables is required.
  • Experience with Bluebeam is preferred.
  • Basic familiarity with CAD-based drawings and models (AutoCAD/Autodesk environment).
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, large-project construction environments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000

 

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
