About this Opportunity

 

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Corporate Communications & Marketing, this role functionally supports Aecon’s Continuous Improvement program – Building Smarter – through effective communications, collaborative content development, and efficient project management.

 

Key areas of responsibilities:

 

. Under the strategic guidance of our Senior Director and Marketing Manager, lead the daily multi-tiered, multi-pronged implementation of Aecon’s Continuous Improvement (CI) program, informing and educating internal and external audiences while supporting a key Aecon-wide corporate strategic objective.
. Drive the coordination, mapping, organization, and content development required for the successful delivery of the program’s strategic tactics, leveraging multiple delivery channels, and adhering to strict schedules.
. Liaise daily with CI team and other internal stakeholder groups to drive program print, digital, training, and online event deliverables in support of ensuring on-time delivery.
. Research, write, and edit original content and scripts to support the program’s delivery channels, including finding, managing, and delivering a consistent and strategic internal news flow and working with the CI Director to deliver a monthly newsletter.
. Schedule, organize, and host related virtual and in-person events, awareness-building information sessions, and forums.
. As the first point of contact for internal stakeholders, you will manage and develop an existing SharePoint intranet portal, as well as monitor and triage any inquiries about the Building Smarter program.
. Liaise with external vendors to support program delivery and objectives.
. Support program sponsors in the ongoing evolution of the program’s framework and associated profile.
. Develop and manage program metrics and dashboards (i.e. click rates / tracking / polling / surveys) and invoicing.

 

Required Knowledge and Experience

 

• University degree or diploma in communications, journalism, or related field
• Minimum of three (3) years of business communications experience, preferably within a digitally focused role
• Demonstrated experience in communications program implementation and management
• Exceptional written/oral communications skills and storytelling lens; ability to take complex ideas and transition into clear, compelling content and meaningful messaging; demonstrated experience tailoring content to appeal to specific target audiences
• Ability to successfully plan and execute multiple priorities with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail
• Experience and maturity in dealing with sensitive matters and strong business acumen to enable tactful problem-solving and collaborative-driven solutions
• Ability to lead as a dedicated contributor within a larger team environment, be open-minded, and embrace feedback and direction from others
• Demonstrated event planning/logistics experience in both virtual and live environments is considered an asset
• Thorough grasp of Microsoft Office suite of products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint)
• Creative knowledge and experience with Canva; demonstrated experience developing creative assets, such as infographics, presentations, or video editing
• Knowledge of key Adobe Creative Cloud tools, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, is considered an asset
• Must have a valid Class G license and access to a vehicle for travel to job sites, as required
