Position Overview

Reporting to the Team Lead, the GIS Solutions Specialist will assist in the creation and maintenance of GIS Products and Solutions within the various operations of the Utilities business unit.

 

This is a full-time opportunity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather analyse current business process to see where spatial tools can be utilized to increase operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with GIS analysts and other team members to understand project requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Present solutions and provide training to operations teams.
  • Create process documentation, including flowcharts and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify improvement opportunities; develop and present recommendations to management and monitor their implementation.
  • Develop and maintain GIS applications and tools using programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Arcade.


Required Knowledge and Experience:

 

  • Must be able to work well within a team environment as well as individually.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to adhere to project schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Microsoft Office proficient – with strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
  • Experience with ESRI’s operational applications- Workforce, Survey123, Field Maps and Experience Builder, Dashboards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the confidence and ability to work with all levels of staff and management within a large organization.
  • Experience integrating GIS technologies with other systems such as FME is an asset.
