What is the Opportunity?
As part of the wider Corporate Affairs & Communications team, the Marketing team evolves, protects and amplifies Aecon’s brand while supporting growth targets as outlined in the company’s Strategic Plan. Our top priorities include brand stewardship, topline business development, and talent acquisition support.
The Marketing Specialist is a mid-level, hands-on role responsible for developing clear, compelling messaging and producing high-quality presentations and marketing collateral that support Aecon’s business priorities. An independent contributor, they work collaboratively across sectors and functions, partnering with both lateral and senior stakeholders to bring ideas to life. The role requires drive, resourcefulness, and accountability, seeing projects through from intake to final delivery in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The successful candidate builds trusted relationships, approaches every assignment with curiosity and professionalism, and brings a solutions-focused mindset that consistently delivers high-quality work and strengthens Aecon’s brand in support of enterprise priorities.
Are you an organized, resourceful, and creative team player with a passion for delivering strategic, high-impact marketing? We’re looking for a positive, motivated self-starter who is eager to contribute, grow, and succeed as a key member of our Marketing team.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Develop clear, persuasive messaging across B2B, B2G, and hybrid markets for presentations, collateral, events, and campaigns, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and consistent positioning.
- Produce polished, on-brand presentations and marketing materials in partnership with Design, translating complex or ambiguous inputs into clear, visually compelling deliverables and strengthening the overall marketing toolkit.
- Lead intake and briefing for BD and internal marketing requests, clarifying objectives, audiences, and success measures, and developing actionable briefs that enable efficient, aligned execution.
- Support conferences, tradeshows, events, and campaigns by developing signage, collateral, and multimedia assets that align with enterprise priorities and brand standards.
- Contribute strategically at the enterprise level, partnering with senior marketing leadership on priority initiatives, offering informed recommendations and upholding brand clarity and storytelling excellence across all touchpoints.
- Administrative tasks such as file/digital library organization, expense reports, database updates, tracking metrics, and processing supply orders.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, Communications, or closely related field.
- 3–5 years in a marketing or communications role with a strong focus on content development, copywriting for marketing and presentations, or B2B storytelling.
- Strong experience developing client-facing presentations and collateral. You know how to take a bunch of bullets and make a client-worthy, succinct and polished presentation!
- Excellent copywriting and editing skills.
- Capable and confident working in Canva to produce clean, well-structured layouts for presentations and marketing collateral.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, including gathering inputs from senior leaders, navigating ambiguous or high-pressure requests, and managing intake with a consultative, solutions-oriented approach.
- Strong organizational and briefing skills, including the ability to develop clear creative briefs for the design team, structure messaging, and content outlines, and translate ambiguous input into actionable direction.
- Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PPT, Excel, Teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Experience supporting sales or business development teams.
- Exposure to infrastructure, construction, engineering, utilities, or regulated industries.
- Experience supporting conferences and events.
- Familiarity with account-based or sector-based marketing.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $75,000-$85,000
