What Is The Opportunity
Aecon is seeking a Systems Integration Manager to join the Urban Transportations Solutions group to support dynamic, transit projects across Canada. The Systems Integration Manager will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in managing systems integration of major rapid rail transit projects, with demonstrated experience leading teams applying optimized systems engineering processes to the delivery of infrastructure projects.
What You Will Do Here
- Execute Systems Engineering processes to deliver successful project outcomes, including requirements management, interface management, validation and verification, configuration management and progressive assurance.
- Lead teams responsible for design, procurement, installation, integration, configuration, testing, and commissioning of rail rapid transit Systems;
- Lead the integration and interface of the Systems with civil structures, elevated guideway, tunnels, stations, O&M facilities, as well as with the existing rail rapid transit systems in revenue operation;
- Ensuring the various project/segment teams comply with the system lifecycle processes defined in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288.
- Manage multi-disciplinary internal engineering resources on the project.
- Manage the successful delivery of Design and Construction Interface requirements.
- Effectively communicate expectations, track performance of engineering team and subcontractors, and take proactive measures to address technical challenges.
- Engage with the Testing and Commissioning team at key stages to ensure success of the Testing and Commissioning program.
- Interface with the Systems Design Team and others to determine schedules, monitor design progress, support systems integration, and coordinating the procurement, installation and T&C activities.
- Provide oversight and support for various stages of systems testing.
- Support various transit related pursuits from the perspective of the Systems Integration.

What You Will Bring To The Team
- Completion of a diploma or degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Computer Science, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Understanding of Private Public Partnership (P3) and other typical contractual structures for the delivery of rail and transit infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in leading systems integration teams, in the rail industry.
- Direct working knowledge of trackwork systems, as well as other rail systems such us signaling and automatic train controls, communications systems, and propulsion power supply systems.
- Professional registration as an Engineer (or able to obtain quickly).
- Experience with AREMA, ISO, CENELEC, MIL-STD, and IEEE standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a fast learner, and have the ability to navigate and execute in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
