The Procurement Team Lead, reporting to the Manager Procurement will be responsible for overseeing their procurement team to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality sourcing of goods and services. This role involves managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with company policies. The Team Lead acts as a bridge between procurement operations and strategic sourcing initiatives.
 
What You'll Do Here:
  • Supervise and mentor procurement team members, providing guidance and performance feedback.
  • Allocate workload and ensure adherence to deadlines and KPIs.
  • Oversee purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier onboarding processes.
  •  Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to avoid stockouts or overstocking
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions
  • Evaluate supplier performance and address issues proactively
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives and category management
  •  Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and sustainability standards in procurement practices
  • Mitigate supply chain risks through contingency planning
  • Prepare and present procurement reports, including spend analysis and supplier performance metrics

 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • 5+ years of procurement experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong leadership and clear, effective communication skills
  • Proficiency with procurement tools, ERP systems, and related technologies
  • Solid understanding of procurement regulations, policies, and industry best practices
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines under pressure
