The Opportunity
Aecon is well-positioned in the Canadian marketplace as an industry leader in the development and construction of infrastructure. We have a roster of ongoing major projects here and abroad, record backlog diversified across multiple sectors and duration, and a robust pipeline of future project pursuits. We are in a strong market position, but we are ultimately aiming higher. This position will require for the successful candidate to work full time at the Toronto Head Office location.

 

What You Will Do Here

  • Perform expense report audits for both internal and external audit teams
  • Prepare monthly metrics reports and other ad hoc reports as requested
  • Participate in review meetings with suppliers and procurement
  • Prepare monthly credit card payment templates to be processed by AP
  • Participate in, and often manage, ad hoc projects related to Concur Expense, Travel, and/or our Corporate Card Programs
  • Assist with day-to-day administration for all corporate credit card programs when required
  • Assist with day-to-day administration for non-Concur employee expenses when required
  • Monitor Expense and Travel spend and contact employees who qualify for a Corporate Card accordingly
  • Provide administrative support to Shared Services leadership team when required
  • Perform full day to day administration for Concur Expense
    • Manage Concur Expense mailbox
    • Assist with employee inquiries and provide training
    • Administer Concur Expense platform and work with Concur support for any changes / enhancements that may be required, including testing
    • Ensure employee expense reports are completed on a timely basis and escalate as required
  • Perform full day to day administration for Concur Travel
    • Manage Concur Travel mailbox
    • Assist with employee inquiries and provide training
    • Set-Up and maintain travel profiles 
    • Work with TMC for any changes / enhancements that may be required, including testing
  • Create and maintain training guides, policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Act as back-up support when required
  • Additional duties as assigned


What You Bring to the Team

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral 
  • 1 – 2 years of accounting experience preferably in a high-volume environment in the construction industry 
  • SAP, Concur Travel and Expense experience an asset
  • Demonstrated computer software proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel skills would be a strong asset 
  • Strong organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines, prioritize and execute multiple tasks, while maintaining attention to detail 
  • Flexibility to manage increased volume of work at month-end 
  • Desire to take ownership of tasks assigned and willingness to learn 
  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision within a team environment 
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in fast-paced environments
  • Strong analytical skills
