Position Overview
Faster. Smarter. Safer. That’s how Aecon Energy Solutions Inc. (AESI) delivers projects. As we continue our mission to become British Columbia’s #1 utility construction provider, we are seeking a Civil Foreman to join our team.
The Civil Foreman will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of the civil scope of work on utility infrastructure projects. This includes managing crews, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring project milestones are met. The role reports directly to the site supervisor or project superintendent.
This position will support a wide range of utility projects, including District Energy systems, Hydro Duct Bank installations, and Gas Distribution infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with clients; respond promptly to inquiries and ensure work meets project quality standards.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule equipment servicing and repairs.
- Develop and apply knowledge of safety practices, scheduling, and trade-specific techniques.
- Lead and mentor field crews in safe work practices and technical execution.
- Communicate regularly with Supervisors and Project Managers regarding project progress, risks, and forecasts.
- Identify and immediately address hazardous or unproductive conditions; escalate unresolved issues to the Supervisor.
Requirements and Experience
- Proven experience in a civil foreman or supervisory role within utility or infrastructure construction.
- Strong understanding of civil construction practices, including trenching, duct bank installation, and site restoration.
- Experience working on District Energy, Hydro Duct, and Gas Distribution projects is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- MUST be fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Project: WBK Duct Bank
Location: West Kelowna, BC
Rate: $48.86 per hour
Overtime: 2hrs/day
Schedule: 5x2, Saturdays as required
Camp: No
